Imagine a World Without Artists

Every year throughout the world, authoritarian regimes imprison artists and journalists whose sole crime is to have provoked, contested, criticized the established order. Detained because their work disturbs, these artists should not be forgotten.

On the occasion of the world imprisoned writers' day (15 November), the LeS dOiGtS bLeUs society decided to show a white page on each of its websites for a duration of one month as a gesture of solidarity with all the artists imprisoned in the world. For one month, poems written by artists in prison will be aired on LeS dOiGtS bLeUs Radio.

LeS dOiGtS bLeUs also sent letters, accompanied by a list of writers currently in prison, to the governments of the countries where it is based (France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Canada) asking them to translate their commitment to freedom of expression into action by urging authoritarian regimes not to imprison artists.
